We're an Australian team that has spent years making homes smarter and more efficient. We worked out how to make a home battery pay for itself — that became GridPilot — and today we manage it for customers right across the country.
How we got here.
Smart Motion began in home automation — setting up Home Assistant for people who wanted their solar, battery, lights, pool and the rest of the house working together properly.
Not gadgets for the sake of it, but a home that quietly runs itself. The deeper we got into solar and batteries, the more we kept seeing the same thing: most homes were sitting on an expensive battery that wasn't really earning its keep.
So we built our own Solar & Battery Controller to squeeze more out of every system — then went a step further. We connected the battery to the live wholesale electricity market, so it could buy power when it's cheap and sell when prices spike. Fully automated, running every five minutes.
That trading engine became GridPilot AI, and the fully-managed platform around it is GridPilot. Same hands-on, done-for-you approach we started with — now delivered remotely to homes right across Australia, all pointed at making your battery work for you.
