🔋 Auto Battery Charging with Low Solar
Smarter charging. Lower bills. More control.
This new automation takes the guesswork out of charging your battery during cloudy days or when solar production is low.
How it works:
- ✅ Watches your energy price in real-time: Supports both Amber Electric and LocalVolts, dynamically tracking your household’s electricity price.
- ☀️ Estimates remaining solar for the day: Calculates how much solar energy is still available (in kWh), using live production and historical trends.
- 🏠 Understands your current load: Monitors your home’s real-time energy usage to ensure there’s enough headroom to charge without importing.
- 📈 Predicts price spikes: Checks for any upcoming price increases and charges the battery ahead of time.
- 💰 You set the price: Define your own ‘Auto Charge’ threshold (e.g. $0.08/kWh). If the price is below it and solar won’t cut it, your battery charges automatically.
💡 Who gets it?
- 🏅 Included for all Gold Plan customers: This feature is available at no extra cost. Just let us know, and we’ll switch it on.
- 💳 Available to others for a one-off fee: Not on Gold? You can still unlock it with a small one-time setup cost.
